We normally have three mission trips per year.
- April – In this Monday thru Saturday trip we will do maintenance projects at the mission and will conduct a Vacation Bible School for the children. We will have a Fiesta for the entire Santa Elena Community on the last day.
- August – In this Monday thru Saturday trip we try to do a joint project in a nearby Tarahumara community for at least one day. We will also do maintenance projects at the mission and conduct a Vacation Bible School for the children. We will have a Fiesta for the entire Santa Elena Community on the last day.
- December – In this Monday thru Thursday trip we will distribute Christmas presents to the children and the Santa Elena community. We will also have a Fiesta for the community with a Christmas performance by the children and deliver food packages to the families.
What to expect on a mission trip.
Our trips leave early Monday morning from Ruidoso, New Mexico in private vehicles. The first and last day of the trip involves traveling as the trip is about 11 hours. The trip fee includes all travel expenses, trip medical insurance, food, and lodging. In 2023, the trip fee was $350 for the April and August trips and $300 for the December trip. Accommodations at the mission include comfortable beds and clean restrooms with showers. All food is provided with most meals at the mission and two or three evening meals at restaurants in Creel. A morning and evening devotional are conducted by team members. A visit to the beautiful Copper Canyon is provided. It is a wonderful mission experience while interacting with the Tarahumara and Mexican cultures.
